– Promoting and delivering top-quality Ligurian products all over the world, emphasizing their origins and nutritional qualities.
– Supporting the strategic and digital transformation of local producers to enable them to survive and compete globally.
ITALY: In 2018, the Italian food industry accounted for 14% of the GDP. With one million active companies, Italy is still a leader in the food sector. The total estimated value of PDO and PGI agri-food and wine production in Italy amounted to 16.2 billion euros, showing a 6% increase compared to 2017, thus confirming that the entire industry was growing.
Exports were also increasing, with a value of 9.0 billion euros (+2.5% vs. 2017). The wine sector starred (€5.4 billion), but the agri-food sector also fared well (€3.6 billion).
